CARGO for the Real Adventure
For as long as we have been in business people have been telling us we should be offering corporate events. Though we’ve never been against this there have been a lot of other projects keeping us busy. So it was really exciting when The Real Adventure called us up and asked if we could run CARGO for them.
The Real Adventure pride themselves on being experts in building great relationships. So we understood why they came to us to run their event for them. CARGO is a great game for a company to play. However, this is not the normal corporate team building. This is a game built of excitement, misinformation and paranoia. No happy clapping here. Instead of trying to imbue “good corporate values” this game creates a framework fear and jeopardy through which to experience the city and the other players anew. It then throws some crazy characters at you and lets each player make the choice of where they want to take the game. Some get right into the role play, others take it easy, wandering from pub to pub, and that's as it should be.
The game finishes up with a boat trip for the victors and we met the teams upon their return. To our pleasure they were all still talking about their experiences in the game. Result. We got lots of nice complements here but instead of us blowing our own trumpet (we do have one), this is what Tim Ward, Head of Online Creative at The Real Adventure, had to say about their experience:
Thanks for all your hard work putting on the game yesterday. It really set up a great atmosphere, broke down the departmental barriers and got people talking to each other, which was exactly what we hoped would happen!
With such a big group of people not necessarily playing by their own choice, there was a noticeable lack of grumblers and non-participants. Loads of people said that it was by far the best activity of this type they’d done. So thanks once again!
If your planning a work event with a difference why not get in touch.
