igfest the festival of interesting games returned to our streets this May. In its fourth iteration, we saw 40 games in the streets of Bristol. With about 1500 unique players to boot this looks like it was, to date, the worlds biggest street / pervasive games festival. Check out our line up page to see who brought games this year. or watch our fantastic new video below...

We were based on St. Nich’s St again this year we really took over the place this year. There were playful walk up performance pieces all day as well as our tech pavilion for the burgeoning field of pervasive games that come as apps.  This being a street games festival of course most of the action was off in the city.
This was the first year we sold tickets to the festival and this seems to have been a good innovation as we saw more players that ever. Lots of new players and a growing cohort that you can only call a diehard (you know who you are).

2.8 Hours later returned to Bristol full force for the festival and the game saw about 1000 players this year. This was amazing! We could wax lyrical about this game and in fact have will be  in our next blog so i’ll save the details for that. Suffice to say if you didn’t get to play this game keep your eyes open for its imminent return from the grave.

There are some great pics of this years event up on our flickr page here. Facebook lovers can see get involved with the festival and its friends here.Tweeters out there can follow us as igfest here too.
